update 1

In the previous post, I said I'd mention how this investigation works. A few things have happened since then, a few things have changed, and in order for this blog to adequately describe what I'm doing in the future, This post will gloss over and not go into much detail on topics that would have gotten their own post. Its got to happen sometime, so lets get it out of the way now. If this blog continues, it'll flow better, and be a better aid to me. If it doesn't continue, it'll be another confusing blog with a pretentious name.

So, I decided to go with the EM spectrum to investigate the phenomenon. This is because a lot of it has to do with the EM spectrum, they radiate UV or Infrared light, which harms the witness. There are stories of sailors who play a game with UFOs, trying to get their torchlight to touch the dark purple blobs floating in the sky around their boats. Bushwalkers occasionally capture black shapes or outlines of something invisible on camera. Arriving UFOs are generally blue, while the ones that depart are red (I sometimes get those mixed up, I'm pretty much an idiot, the point is, the colour shows the direction).

So, basically, I'm going to go to a paranormal hotspot location at certain times of night and shine different frequencies of light around, like a freakin' idiot. I'm going to wait for something to happen, that's all I can really do, and try to shine my torch at whatever it is to see what happens. Its not a good plan, its pretty terrible, almost a waste of time, but its a start.
I've found a pretty good site, with UFO sightings, bigfoot sightings, mysterious disappearances and deaths, plus the geological red flags for sites with paranormal activity (high elevation, faultlines, etc)
I've tried to look for things to use as 'bait', but so far, not much. I have a can of tuna, that's about it.
Good times to see this stuff usually corresponds to 'change' times, sunrise, sunset, around midnight. I've interpreted this as a change in temperature, mainly from hot to cold. So, I'm going to this place around that time. The phenomenon also seems connected to storms. I'm not going to focus on storms though, I'll still go out before or after a storm, but not during. I don't have a deathwish. It usually seems to happen before or after, not during anyway.

I've gone out twice. The first, I got there too late and it was too cold for my car to work properly. It still worked, but there was no guarantee about later, so I left. There was lots of fog, it was pretty cool. Close to  my location, I saw some lightning contained within the fog in a field nearby. It was interesting, but I couldn't stay.
I left much earlier the second time, but my phone was low when I got there. I have a contact system with a person for my safety, so I couldn't stay long. I told them I'd be back soon, and I walked around, flashing lights around the area, a quick walkabout. I flashed one of the special torchlights at a tree, and saw what I thought was a weird looking possum. I flashed the normal torch over there to get a better look, and it was gone, no sign of anything there. I flashed the special torch back there, and the possum thing was back, crawling down the tree and seemed to run back into the bush, like a monkey or something. Reminded me of the racoon in Pocahontas. I left pretty quickly after that.
I don't know what that was, and I can't really explain it. I didn't get any evidence of it, so until I do, I have to assume I was seeing things. Maybe there was a moth on the torch or my eyes were tired, or the torch picked up something in the background and made an illusion, I'm not sure. But next time, I'm going to look around the area more, before I sit down and wait.
I'm going again in the next three days.
